The Five Nights at Freddy’s Franchise

The original FNAF game series includes nine titles, plus several spin-offs, including a mobile AR game.

The story centers around Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, named after its animatronic mascot, Freddy. In 1982, William Afton, the founder of several similar restaurants, begins experimenting on human souls using a range of “Funtime” animatronics. These robots secretly abduct and kill children during birthday parties. Tragedy strikes when William’s daughter, Elizabeth, dies and her soul possesses one of the animatronics.

In the summer of 1983, William’s older son, Michael, bullies his younger brother by pushing him into Fredbear’s mouth. The animatronic malfunctions and crushes the boy’s head, killing him. After his death, William’s son becomes Golden Freddy.

Despite these failures, William continues his experiments, killing more children whose souls end up in the animatronics. The pizzeria eventually shuts down when the bodies are found, but the story of Freddy and his friends is far from over.
